Cicada Restaurant and Craft Bar

Disappointing , don’t go there: we have asked for a soft boiled egg, came back twice very hardThe menu said a bun was R59 but came up R99... better place to go in Nelspruit.

This is a nice place to have a few drinks and some delicious food, from the sushi to the burgers and platters are just delish!!

This was not our first visit to Cicada so we were expecting a similar level of service and food quality. We checked the menu on Trip Advisor prior to our arrival and had pretty much already decided on our meals. To our dismay, those menu items were no longer even on the menu. Starters were ok. We had sushi and crispy squid heads. The sushi was tasty but the squid heads needed some seasoning. We ordered our mains, quite simple... The two items were together on the menu, I even showed our waitress during the ordering procedure.When the mains arrived, the one order was not what we'd ordered. Our waitress was very quick to apologise and she did try to fix the problem as quickly as she could.On this occasion, it seemed to be more a drinking venue than a food venue. We might try them again.

the food, cocktails and service was good. The drinks arrived swiftly and the waiters were very friendly and helpful.

Good food, Great vibe - should have more specials other days than Mondays. Staff a bit slow but overall good.

Personal and quick service with a calm atmosphere, good food and variety on menu as well as delicious home made desserts! Wow

It was a nice experience at Cicada. The waitress was very friendly and accomodating. The presentation of the food was better than what it actually tastes but it was pretty good.An overall good experience.

Quite possibly the worst experience i have ever had at a restaurant. unfriendly staff, over priced and whatever you do, do not order the nachos ! the nachos consist of big corn bites (yes big corn bites not nachos) with a disgusting cheese sauce that almost tasted like lemon cheese cake? and then some guacamole quite obviously not fresh with a small amount of cream for R125.00??? Table was broken, was with my baby and they didn't offer a seat for him. (yes i know its not a family restaurant but come on) the manager didn't even say a word to us and we were the only customers. do yourself a favor and go get some slap chips and bread and not only will you have a better meal but your wallet wont be angry with you either. ps also just a tip to Cicada, don't serve you food in the equivalent of a dog bowl.

We were a big table and we got served pretty well for the number of orders we had. Lovely food! The sushi was perfect!

This is an excellent establishment with really good food. Unfortunately they do not enforce the non-smoking laws of the country. We sat outside right next to the non-smoking sign. After we realised that people are smoking next to us, we requested to be moved to the non-smoking area inside. After a while even the people inside, under the roof, started smoking. Clearly they have a non-smoking sign, but with no intention to enforce the law in this regard.
