We went for the Tuesday half price sushi and I and my partner both had June birthdays so we could get our R100 birthday discounts too.
The first surprise was that the conveyor belt has gone (apparently in all the stores). The explanation that the sushi is fresher when made to order made sense, but we missed being able to start without waiting and stop when we were full.
The second surprise was the increase in prices. R70 for three roses is not bad if you halve it but on a full price day was a bit pricey for us.
The third surprise was that instead of getting your R100 birthday discount any time in the month of your birthday, for some unknown reason it is now only in the 30 days from the date of your birthday, meaning one of us got no discount.
In total, half price sushi with two glasses of wine, tip and R100 birthday discount came to R400. In another month on another day that would be around R900.
And the sushi ? It was amazing. So made to order is definitely the way to, go !
