Cape Town Fish Market - Big Bay

We went expecting great seafood at affordable prices and were terribly disappointed.Both the calamari main and kingklip main portion sizes were absolutely pathetic. We have had starter portions that were bigger, at a third of the price from every other seafood restaurant in the past.Nice venue, just don’t go hungry because you will be sorely disappointed.

Visiting family after the C-19 lockdown and decided on a fish lunch. CTFM has plenty of seating and had the tables spaced so that all visitors were at a decent distance from each other. Very good selection of dishes and plenty to eat but sloppy service detracted form the general satisfaction.

Our first time back to a regular dinner spot since March. Protocols for Covid are most satisfactory. Watched waitron cleaning and sanitizing a table of guests that left. Masks and face shields worn. Only non alcoholic drinks served. We had a very pleasant Castle "free ". Lemon butter prawns and prawn curry for mains. Two plates of sushi for starters. Super fresh and no carousel working, meaning sushi is prepared as ordered.Delicious dinner and super pleasant waitron. Lovely outing and very happy with protocols in place.

I have been a loyal CTM customer for many years having had one of the first cards.Last month on my birthday I went for lunch, seeing it was the last outing before COVID -19 lock down as well and requested my birthday voucher discount seeing as the bill was high for 5 people, it would have been great to have used it on my birthday, but this was not the case.I was told it was not loaded yet, now being only valid for a month for the birthday - it will now be NOT VALID for this year - will this be extended due to the shops being closed?The service was also the worst ever on the day - I can understand that the staff were not happy with the unemployment situation, but when calamari special comes not as asked and then the waiter had an attitude - so for a R149.00 meal it was not eaten beside the chips - not on - eventually we were given a starter calamari to compensate after drinks and meal were finished.Hope when you open again there is better service !

We enjoyed a lovely fresh grilled Kingklip meal. Friendly staff, service a little slow for a 6pm meal. Lots of safe parking, a few hundred meters from the beach. Lovely view, some blinds for the sunset glair. It started to fill up by 19h30. Enjoyed the comfortable booth seats. Will visit them again when in the area.

Very nice seafood restaurant. Friendly atmosphere and beautiful view. The best rump steak I had in Cape Town. Seating a bit uncomfortable and service slow...

I am a Cape Town resident and this is my favourite local seafood restaurant for customary weekly visits and also for special occasions. The grilling staff always seem to cook the fish perfectly. If anything is not as expected the management will gladly make matters right.The restaurant has a spectacular view of Table Bay, Table Mountain and Robben Island. The only small negative is that the decor is hard, no sound dampening and on promotional days, it becomes busy and noisy. This gets me into trouble when I don't hear everything my wife says - but don't let this put you off.

No atmosphere, food is overpriced and there is absolutely no value for money here with the portion sizes. Eaten here before a year or so ago and nothing has changed. Still so disappointed - so won't be visiting them again.

Came for sushi and had high expectations given that the sushi was R16 a piece. Sadly some pieces came off the conveyer belt and were dry. Some pieces were sloppily assembled, or off cuts from complete rolls. Service was glacially slow, eventually got served by the manager who was chipper and pleasant to deal with.View was lovely though, ideal for a sunset cocktail.

really enjoyed this restaurant, plenty of space and it wasnt too busy so we were served quickly and the food was really nice. went for the platter and there was plenty of it. there were a few offers that we partook in and they were fun. it was a bit on the expensive side but i couldnt fault the place really, definately one to go for.
