Butlers Restaurant

My wife and I won the lucky draw for a complimentary date night dinner special at Butler's after our previous visit. We were treated like royalty with our exclusive little dining area in a corner. The food was great, the service was perfect and the entire experience was absolutely worth it.A year ago we stopped dining at Butlers because of poor service and average food. The change of management and new chef has drastically changed this restaurant around, I can recommend it strongly.Our waiter Josh and manager Steve made our evening very special.

I have been to Butlers 3 times in the last two months & have been delightfully surprised by the excellence of their selection & quality of cuisine & service. Innovative recipies & attrative presentation along with reasonable portion sizes make this a culinary experience rather than just a meal. Service is well informed, polite & prompt.So "I'll be Back"

Had an wonderful time. The service and hosting was great. The food was so delish. Well done to Thulani, Mandla and the Head Chef who went out of his way to make me an awesome vegan starter and main meal. Highly recommend

Disappointing lunch today - this restaurant looks like it’s set up for fine dining but we didn’t get that experience. My duck was served cold. The breast pieces were very pink and would have been good if it was at least warm. The leg was way over cooked with soft gelatinous skin. This should have been crispy (and hot). In the description there should have been almonds but I couldn’t find any. The Falklands Calamari was also cold. My wife’s Prawn salad was “meh”. I called our waiter (who was very attentive) and told him and asked him specifically to inform management. Nobody came near us so the opportunity to salvage a customer was lost. Regrettably this was reflected in the tip when wasn’t his fault.

Brilliant night out!! I’d called in and made a reservation for two - date night. The setup was so beautiful! The service was absolutely impeccable! And the food was REALLY delicious with generous portions. Definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Durban. Highly recommended!

...1st time visiting this restaurant. Often in the area and always driving pass this venue so we decided to try it out. Garlic foccocia with honey glazed onions were so delicious . Calamri wasn't done to my liking...did not like it at all. Steaks were absolutely soft soft soft. I like mine burnt and super well done and it was still done brilliantly. Sandile was our waiter...what an amazing lad. So friendly and always attentive! We will be back...

After a lock-down period when no restaurants have been open, it was good to be able to get out and enjoy a "non-home cooked" meal.Our party of 4 shared and enjoyed the focaccia as a starter and 4 different meals were ordered. Presentation was very good and all dishes were well received. Lamb cutlets rather underdone as per ordered, but some extra time back in the kitchen and they returned as originally ordered.Desserts were ordered and also did not disappoint. The Hubertos coffee ice-cream as part of the one dessert was one of the best ever tasted.Service was brisk and non intrusive, and as a start up after an extended lock-down period, if this standard of service, presentation and quality of food continues it will auger well for this establishment.We will be back ...... again!

Beautiful atmosphere with great food/ ambiance / service. My favorite restaurant in Hillcrest ??. Kudu was outstanding!

Had an exceptional experience at Butlers restaurant recently. The food was scrumptious and our waitron, Sandile, was attentive, informed and very pleasant. Would most definitely be going back.
