Atasca Portuguese Restaurant - Pietermaritzburg

It was my wife’s birthday and we chose this restaurant, the food and service did not disappoint us at all. Excellent all round.

We really enjoyed our meal. I had the House speciality Bacalhau a Bras. Absolutely delicious. Well worth sampling this Portuguese national dish. My husband had the Algarve platter and was equally happy with his choice. As food is prepared fresh it takes a while to arrive- 30 minutes, but during that time we enjoyed our wine and the ambiance of the restaurant. Staff were friendly and attentive. Service very good. We will definitely return

I went for a random lunch in Pietermaritzburg. Have heard on the competition but ended up here at Atasca, a Portuguese restaurante. The menu was in Portuguese, obviously translated into English. Very good ambience, amazing wine and food. Super recommend. Good price as well. And outstanding music ambient.

Great Service and Great Food. Really enjoyed the whole evening. Out waiter had a good sense of humour and very helpful. All enjoyed their food. Will visit again.

Amazingly friendly staff, good vibe, delicious food, however, very small portions. Make sure you have starters and dessert.

went there for my birthday. just my hubby & I . I had beef meddallions on pasta with garlic aioli. simply tasty. my hubby kept sampling my food. I love the décor. so tranquil. much can be said for the décor of an eatery. it plays so much of a role in your whole dining experience. a little on the expensive side but if you want cheap youl get cheaply made food.not at atasca. food is worth the money.

Manager and Supervisor, cant remember their names, but anyways Atasca always has good food, friendly waiters and always tries to please, especially the guy at the reception. Pity they should experiment with gluten and lactose free food and more people will support. love that!!!

A group of us go here every Monday to have their chicken special. It is great value. The service is normally very good but lately they are slipping a bit.....for example last Monday we waited a full 20 minutes before we were approached by a waiter for a drinks order.
