“Adamo at Protea Hotel”

A well managed restaurant with a chef that knows his skills.Triple lamb including a chop and rib has excellent basting.

“Lovely breakfast”

“Excellent service”

“Breakfast and Dinner”

We stayed a couple of days at this hotel including breakfast, which was good with a variety of fresh dishes. The staff are willing to do the extra's when we had a request, great! The dinner was good, we had steaks, they were super tender en tasty, the wine card has some good wines. A budget for all types of wallets. You need to take your time, though, as there is no great hurry in this gorgeous little 'dorp'.

“The extra mile”

I arranged with the executive chef, Christine Maudsley, to have a surprise party for my partner at the restaurant and I was astonished by the level of professionalism with which she treated my request. The breakfast buffet was lovely and the view from the outside area made for the perfect setting. We were served by friendly and helpful staff. This Protea Hotel restaurant most definitely surpassed my expectations.

“Great dinner with excellent service”

We were not staying at the hotel but went for dinner in the Adamo Restaurant as a spoil and was not disappointed. The welcome by the Restaurant Manager was professional and friendly. Our waiter was attentive and the service excellent. I had the chicken Florentine, which was excellent, full of flavor and moist and my partner had the lamb curry which he said some of the best curry he has ever had and perfect for a chilly evening. Do not make a mistake and think that this is just a hotel restaurant because it certainly holds its own in this quaint town.

“Ada-NO”

Sorry to say, but the food was pretty awful. The chicken and prawn curry came with exactly one prawn and it wasn't even fresh!I couldn't even bring myself to taste my family's food, which I almost always do: giant, green, so-called "gnocchi" was doughy and inedible apparently. This menu needs an overhaul and the kitchen staff some refresher training perhaps. Our waitress was lovely.

“Breakfast and supper”

Breakfast: variety of hot and cold. Includes freshly baked muffins and fresh fruit. Chef was more than happy to make pancakes for the kids upon request. Staff very helpful and friendly and provided cappuccinos and hot chocolate as well. Supper: we had the prawn and chicken red curry, steak, chefs salad and kids chic and sweet potatoes. The prawn and chic curry was large enough to share and not spicy. Service was excellent. Plenty parking.Good music.Friendly staff.

“Absolutely Excellent,one of the Very best in Clarens ??????”

We decided to have our Friday night dinner at the Hotel,required a table for 12 people,the waiters immediately arranged,everything.From the moment we arrived,the Service was Excellent Excellent.The food was Absolutely Excellent,very well presented,Chef did everything to make our event enjoyable.This restaurant deserve to be in the Top 5,they are Excellent.Starters,excellent,main course,Wow ,desert,well done guys Well most definitely be back.
