Chef's Profile
Katie is the founder & Head Chef at The Bee-Stro. In her own words: "I am a trained pastry chef and have been in the industry for over 10 years. Graduating from the South African Chefs Academy in 2012, I went on to work in 5 star establishments in both Cape Town and Johannesburg where I met my husband. In 2021 we moved back to Cape Town and opened Cafe Euphoria at the Woodstock Exchange. We operated there for 3 years but ultimately felt the location was holding us back and so we moved and rebranded to what we have now: The Bee-stro at Riverlands Mall.
While pastry is my first culinary love, my focus in food is fresh, local and seasonal produce showcased in a delicious way. We make everything in house "from scratch" with the highest quality ingredients we can source. My food ethos is quite similar to my life ethos, to do things properly even if it might be a bit more effort and time. With this in mind we strive to serve the best food while having the best time doing it!"
