Welcome to Zana's Artisan Bakery & Deli
The story of two chefs: A pastry chef and a fine dining chef met in the kitchen and fell in love. Her passion for baking delectable, sweet, heavenly delights was perfectly balanced by his attention to detail, knowledge of classic French cooking and flavour combinations that drew discerning diners looking for a feast.
Zana’s Artisan Bakery & Deli is for foodies, those with an appetite for homemade, crafted to perfection, crusts, croissants, cakes and culinary courses. Made with only the finest ingredients, using recipes perfected over time.
Our food journey began many years ago. After working in hotels, restaurants, on private yachts and in luxury safari camps, we decided to open a little deli with a lotta heart. Our goal was simple - provide diners with the best pastries, breads, outstanding meals, unique products and exceptional service.
Our open kitchen means you get the chance to see exactly how our artisan goods are produced, including breads and roasted meat cuts done in our Roman-style wood oven. We want to share our philosophy of quality craftsmanship, simplicity and fine ingredients. Zana’s is more than just a business to us. It’s our heart and soul. It’s the realisation of our passion and love for food.
There was a time when you knew what you were eating. Ingredients weren’t listed as codes, you knew the people you were buying from, the Butcher, the Baker, the Cheese Maker. There was a time before artificial preservatives, long-life anything, and additives to keep your “bread” fresh for two weeks. It was a time when standards and quality mattered and it was food made the way it should be.
We’re bringing back this way of cooking and eating. We’re bringing back the basics from a time gone by. Where mass-produced is not an option. Where food was made with love and a passion for the craft of cooking and baking. Where nostalgic tastes meet modern flair. It's the only way, it's the Zana way.
Good food, made with love.
