This popular Portuguese Restaurant in Honeydew (formerly Pecado Da Gula) has been a well known destination eatery for many years. It was taken over by Aswill and Deborah Horn in April 2016 and serves fine Portuguese fare, seafood and vegetarian dishes.
Their vision was be known as a contemporary, Mediterranean/Portuguese, family restaurant. A place to come and meet friends and enjoy a homely meal just like grandma used to make.
Located in Pierre Road, Via Graça is close enough to visit regularly but still has a country feel and look. Food is Mediterranean and is made with love and a healthy dose of garlic and cream.
The interior has a warm friendly atmosphere with roaring fires in the winter and delightful gardens for eating Al Fresco on warmer days and throughout the summer.
Starters include classic Portuguese dishes such as Clams “Bulhao Pato” (expect a strong taste of Coriander and Lemon), Trinchado, Chouriça (grilled and flamed with vodka) and the Via Graca Blooming Onion (exciting spiced, whole onion, fried in batter and served with a dip).
For mains there is a wide selection of Portuguese dishes including Caldeirada de Peixe a rich fish casserole, the famous Portuguese Codfish prepared in two different ways, Carne Porc a Alentejana, a typical Portuguese dish with pork loin, clams and a coriander sauce and of course, Beef Espetada.
Apart from the Portuguese speciality section of the menu there is an extensive Seafood Section, a meat section with a range of Steaks, Ribs, Lamb Cutlets, Oxtail and much, much, more. This extensive menu also includes sections for Curries, Pies and a Vegetarian section.
Desserts are mouth watering and there is also a kiddies menu.
Via Graça is also a perfect setting for functions of all shapes and sizes, from weddings to corporate events, dinner clubs and get togethers of all kinds. Expect to have difficulty choosing from this delightful and extensive menu.
