The Townhouse has been a favoured spot for city diners for some 40-years. Today, executive chef Stefan Schmidt continues this heritage at the Hotel’s two popular dining venues.
Trees Restaurant, an 80-seater restaurant with intimately screened tables, overlooks the leafy uptown cityscape. It serves breakfast, both continental buffet and hot à la carte, with favourites from traditional ‘mealie pap’ to Eggs Benedict. Gourmet dinners are the restaurant’s main attraction.
Seasonally changing menus offer a delicious showcase of South African flavours and inspirations and features a contemporary inspired menu showcasing the best of local produce. There are some ‘must-try’ desserts and a generous selection of Cape wines for connoisseurs and quaffers.
Trees Café, a lounge-style venue at street level is a more informal meeting place for a quick breakfast, casual lunch, snack, afternoon tea or a quiet drink. Select from à la carte options like salads, burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips, or serve yourself from a daily light lunch buffet whose hot and cold selection includes soups, stews, pastas and more.
Both venues are popular among business and leisure guests, including patrons of the nearby Fugard Theatre and Symphony Concert seasons at the City Hall.
