The brain child of Aleen Ristow, The Vanilla Bean Café is a beautifully styled restaurant situated in East London. It was opened in June 2016 and has gone from strength to strength. Not only is this beautiful venue a restaurant offering the most delectable treats, it is also a boutique store offering unique and homemade gifts.
The décor is very relaxed with a fresh feel, airy and bright with a touch of home. Aleen’s vision is for the Vanilla Bean Café to be a place where you feel at home, where you can enjoy time with friends and to celebrate special events. The café boasts a gift section containing beautifully made local crafts amongst some imported goods and a quiet decked patio area which can be closed off for private functions.
The food prepared by the chefs at The Vanilla Bean Café is as fresh and organic as possible, with everything being home-made with fresh produce. They serve substantially-sized and well-priced breakfasts and (light) lunches as well as the usual coffee shop menu options. The favourite dishes being the Cinnamon Scones (not made anywhere else), Mediterranean Veggie Bake and the Coconut Chicken curry wraps and are well known for their delectable milkshakes and pancakes.
