The historic Roundhouse Restaurant nestled in the picturesque Glen on the slopes of Lions Head, with sensational views across Camps Bay and the 12 Apostles mountain range, has re-opened.
Steeped in over 300 years of history, the former guard house, tea room, hotel and the hunting lodge of Lord Charles Somerset has been elegantly restored with the charm and sophistication of the Grand Old Cape.
Our style of cuisine offers contemporary dishes that combine European cuisine with a distinctly South African character. Constantly looking to revive forgotten South African ingredients and recipes and incorporate them into the menu in a modern way. The sourcing of ingredients is an extension of this locality – by actively sourcing the best artisanal produce that local producers have to offer, and using these ingredients in a style that is true to nature. Every plate is created with the aim of layering flavours and textural experiences, while preserving the authenticity of flavour of the natural product.
Hospitality at The Roundhouse is genuine and meticulous and will ensure warmth, comfort and relaxation with great ambiance and nostalgia as a backdrop.
We invite you to come and enjoy the sophisticated, warm hospitality of a bygone era.
