The Bay restaurant is proudly associated with the False Bay Rugby Club, and indeed is situated on the same property. This makes it the perfect place to head to after watching a game of rugby or some other sport. The restaurant is extremely family orientated, and with a large grassy outdoor area is the perfect place to chill out on a Sunday afternoon.
The Bay restaurant is an unpretentious eatery where what you see is what you get. The indoor part of the restaurant boasts a fully stocked bar and a fuss free visage – basic furniture sits on an easy-to-clean tile floor with clean white walls. Outside is an extensive grassy area overlooking a rugby field and shaded by a row of oak trees. The wooden benches also have umbrellas and are almost indestructible – that is, children can climb all over them without any harm coming to them. There is also plenty of space for the kids to play, including a jungle gym.
As with any good family restaurant, the meals on offer are hearty and tasty, but appealing to even the picky eaters among your group. Typical pub lunches are a favourite, with options like the rib basket or chicken schnitzel being popular. You can also order simple salads and wraps, or for a lighter meal or starter, bar snacks such as chilli poppers and samosas go down well.
From Muizenberg, travel on the M3 towards Cape Town CBD. Take Constantia Road exit and at the robots, turn left onto Constantia Road. The Bay can be found on the same grounds as Virgin Active on the left before you reach Contantia Village.
