Jonathan Wayne founded and opened Texas Saloon on the 4th of August 2015. Situated at 82 Steve Biko on Die Bult in Potchefstroom Northwest, this Rock & Roll bar boasts big food, craft beer, sexy bar-top dancing girls, outlaw wanted décor and rock & roll bands. Texas Saloon is where the new cool meets the old school and is famous for serving some of the best wings & ribs in the North West (shhhhh....it's all in the in-house BBQ sauce).
Vastly different to the average restaurant and typical night club in the area, Texas Saloon serves up typical big-styled BBQ Texas food, from beer marinated steaks, to 220g monster burgers, nachos, bacon, foot longs, cheese dogs and baskets. Wash this down with an ice cold craft beer and you've got the perfect meal.
A few favourite dishes include the Double Barrel Buckaroo Hot Dog (two flamed grilled cheese grillers inside a 20cm long bun with caramelised onions, smokey joe's sauce, our in-house BBQ sauce drizzle and American style fries), the Loaded Gun Nachos (crumbed chicken breast strips and mushrooms stacked on layers of nacho chips and melted cheese, topped with feta and a sweet chilli mayo dressing) and the Rodeo Large Combo (a delicious mix of 600g ribs and 6 chicken wings served with American style fries and onion rings).
The décor at Texas Saloon is rock & roll themed and has a true authentic Saloon vibe straight out of the Wild West; wooden longhorns, craft beer décor, original outlaw wanted wood framed posters, American stars and stripes, cowboy hats, a wooden stage, and bartenders and waitresses dressed as cowboys and cowgirls.
From start to finish it feels like you are in the old Wild West, a one of a kind experience.
Travel on the N12 and head southwest toward Wolmarans Street. Turn left to merge onto Nelson Mandela Drive/N12 and then turn left again onto Beyers Naude Avenue. Continue onto Hoffman Street and then turn right onto Borcherds Street. Turn right onto Steve Biko Street and you will find us on the left.
