Located in Woodstock's popular The Old Biscuit Mill, Saucisse Deli is a family-run speciality meat and cheese deli with spacious seating areas inside and additional outside seating. Saucisse is French for "little sausage" and guests are encouraged to browse the deli, taste various meats and cheeses and then take a seat and order something that tickles their taste buds from the Daily Selection.
The menu is interesting and varied and includes Breakfast which is served until 11:30am, Gourmet Sandwiches and Wraps, delectable Salads and a Create Your Own breakast or lunch section which is based on seasonal products and freshly made bread.
As a trained chef and self-confessed foodie it was only natural that Amanda, owner of Saucisse, would forge a career around this passion. Her love for food took her all over the world and into various food-related jobs but the life-long dream to own and run her own eatery persisted.
Amanda's travels to Europe and the Mediterranean created an open-mindedness not only in terms of flavours and products, but also in the way Saucisse is run – giving customers the option to choose and build their own meals, with expert guidance from Amanda and her knowledgeable team.
According to Amanda: "Food should inspire curiosity and experimentation – two qualities which are encouraged at Saucisse. To ensure we stay relevant and keep our customers coming back for more, we strive to be at the forefront of industry trends."
The restaurant only use local products in the deli as well as sustainable. All their bacon, sausages, eggs and chicken are free range and all the deli goods on offer are from small local family run industries.
Although being an outstanding Deli is Amanda's core focus at Saucisse, she also offers a range of other services. Their main core focus is also on sustainability in the kitchen, they recycle, only use biodegradable packaging and natural cleaning products and are a plastic free zone.
Boasting a relaxed atmosphere and fantastic location with parking facilities at the The Old Biscuit Mill, Saucisse is the perfect venue to host an event. Dinners, cocktail parties, kitchen teas, birthday parties or launches – the space lends itself to just about any small to medium sized event. Amanda can assist with catering and service staff if necessary – the choice is with the client.
Saucisse Deli also offers a service of ordering ahead – a minimum of 30 minutes ahead is required. Saucisse regular clients may order the day before so that they don't have to waste any time while meals are assembled.
Head west on Nelson Mandela Boulevard/N2. Take Exit 2 for Searle Street toward Zonnebloem. After 130m turn left onto Searle Street. Turn right onto Upper Warwick Street. Turn left onto Queens Road. Turn right onto Victoria Road/M4. After 28m turn left onto Sussex Street. Turn right at the 3rd cross street onto Albert Road/R102. Travel for 900m and Saucisse Boutique Deli will be on the left.
