The decor is pleasing to the eye, with warm wall colours, one or two artworks, and an imposing Zen water feature which blend to create a harmonious look and feel to the interior. A covered deck provides ample tables for al fresco dining and can be used all year round with the addition of roll down blinds and cosy heaters. In keeping with the Zen theme there is a sheltered garden area, which has been thoughtfully created from a tiny space complete with bamboo, pebbles, greenery and its own water feature. Here you can enjoy an intimate and tranquil dining experience which is often hard to find in the busy suburb of Rivonia.
The menu offers a good selection of Mediterranean inspired dishes along with some spicy options to tantalise the taste buds. Popular starters are the crumbed olive bucket, Thai chicken skewer with peanut and coconut milk sauce, and the camembert phyllo pastry twigs with berry sauce. A good selection of light lunch time meals is available and includes a number of salad options with combinations ranging from rocket & steak, to blue cheese with bacon and croutons. For a more substantial lunch try the rocket sweet potato rosti which can be accompanied with either grilled chicken, steak, smoked salmon or roasted vegetables. Main course recommendations are the rocket chilli steak or theroasted French cut rack of lamb. For a decadent dessert, the chocolate Bar-one cake is a must!
