Rim & Rubber caters to diners who enjoy high-speed motorbikes and finely prepared food. While some might consider this to be an unusual combination, the eatery prides themselves on preparing slow-cooked, quality cuisine to leather-jacketed bikers.
While a haven for enthusiasts, a visit to Rim & Rubber is a unique and fun dining experience for all. The interior is retro; the old motorcycle parts combined with the collectables on display makes the restaurant feel authentic.
The eatery isn’t designed for quick meals, but caters for diners who want to while away an evening with good food, a couple of drinks, and lively conversation. The comprehensive menu appeals to all taste buds, and guests are encouraged to come hungry due to the sizeable portions.
There are several mouth-watering entrées to choose from, including the spicy Cape Malay Pickled Fish or the Deep-Fried Goats Cheese Salad.
If you’re looking for something that is light on the stomach, you can’t go wrong with Rim & Rubber’s classic Beef Burger. The dish comprises of a 200-gram beef patty, topped with rosemary aioli, cheddar cheese, pickled cucumber, onion, tomato, and lettuce. Alternatively, share the Grid Girls Snack Platter with friends. The meal comes with basted pork ribs, chicken wings, calamari, chorizo, biltong fritters, beef patty bowties, onion rings, sweet potato chips, and your choice of three sauces.
The Maple Glazed Eisbein serves as a suitable main for ravenous customers. The 800-gram meat is succulent and tasty; and is served with potato jam, cream spinach, beer-battered onion rings, and pickled cabbage. Non-meat eaters can opt for the Vegetarian Carbonara – a pasta dish topped with roasted baby tomatoes, mushrooms, fine beans, garlic, basil, cream, and parmesan.
Keep space for a sweet treat as the wide selections of desserts are a must-try. The Baked Alaska comes highly recommended. The meal comprises of a pumpkin spice sponge topped with Amarula ice cream and vanilla meringue, and is served with strawberries and mint.
