In our 16th year at Vredenheim, Barrique is an oasis of traditional cuisine in the heart of the
Stellenbosch winelands. The restaurant is run by the owners Karin & Peter Brittz, and their personal detail shows in the warm welcome visitors receive, through to the a la carte menu.
At Barrique you find a foray of old favourites like oxtail, lamb shanks & bobotie, as well a variety of cosmopolitan dishes like classic pizzas, pastas and salads. Our wood fire oven produces incredibly tender steaks and succulent linefish. For the sweet tooth we have magnificent gooseberry cheese cake or pistachio crème brulee, and for instant satisfaction try our lemon meringue ice cream.The sweet simple things in life are the real ones.

From our stylish table settings in the restored wine cellar to our garden area you will feel at home drinking our affordable Vredenheim wines. From Muizenberg take Baden Powell Dr (R310) towards Strand/Stellenbosch. Follow the R310 past Spier Wine Estate & approx. 3km down the road you'll find the Vredenheim Wine Estate turnoff on your right hand side. Follow this road over the train lines until you reach the estate.
