Petits Fours is a delightful bistro, combining the best of South Africa’s culinary offerings with French-styled dishes and bakes. Open for breakfast and lunch, Petits Fours has a varied menu, filled with creative takes on old favourites such as semolina porridge topped with apple crumble served with custard on the side, and the Italian meat ball sandwich. To go with your meal or pastry there is a dedicated tea menu and an extensive coffee list is on offer.
The menu is always up-to-date with international food trends. The Petits Fours team is inspired by Manhattan’s vibey café scene and also draw many ideas from the fresh and funky trends originating in the nouveau cuisine of the French Riviera.
Where ambience is concerned Petits Fours has it in bucket loads. The property that houses the eatery is a heritage site over 200 years old. It stands witness to where the first settlers in Cape Town may have put foot on shore and met the indigenous people of Africa in 1652. The décor is simultaneously classy and homely, with white-washed wooden furniture punctuated by fully-loaded cake stands, black-board hearts hanging from the ceiling and small wire creations decorating the flower pots.
The history of the area, the food selection and the décor are all contributing factors to the current character of Petits Fours. It is a character you will undoubtedly fall in love with, as where else can you enjoy lovingly-prepared, fresh foods from our revolutionary menu, or choose from the wide variety of over 30 different pastries and cakes, baked on site daily at a lovely location on the West Coast?
