World-class master chef Nobuyuki ‘Nobu’ Matsuhisa has expanded his eponymous empire with the debut of his first restaurant in Africa. A sweeping fan-like staircase leads to the 104 cover dining area and sushi counter, which is framed by a textured, translucent origami light that glides along the ceiling.
The upper level Nobu Bar features a selection of Sakes including plum wines, Japanese beer and a selection of Sake and Shochu based cocktails. No stranger to international culinary influences, Nobu gives classical Japanese cuisine a contemporary twist.
Chef and owner Nobu Matsuhisa is renowned for his signature take on Japanese cuisine classics combined with fusion element surprises gleaned from his stints in kitchens around the globe. A dedication to perfection is a hallmark at every Nobu in the world and this is reflected in the quality of ingredients, the intricacy of presentation and the care taken with details such as the handmade tableware chosen for each and every item on the vast menu. If time is limited, but you want that Nobu fix, visit the Nobu Bar on the upper level of the restaurant, where the happy voices and laughter of contented, inspired diners will prove to be the perfect accompaniment to a goblet of premium sake or one of the huge variety of sake cocktails on offer. The bar snacks and tempting tasters on offer will see you hastily making your next Nobu dinner reservation. Temptation, as offered by Nobu, must be given into.
Travel along the N2 towards Cape Town. Travel along Eastern Boulevard and keep to the right until you approach you first set of traffic light with Cape Town International Convention Centre on your left-hand side. Turn right at the traffic lights (Coen Steytler) and cross over the next set of traffic lights into the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. At the first round-about keep left. At the next round-about take the second exit, follow the road until it bends to the right and then turn right into One&Only Cape Town.
