Mynt Café is one of Camps Bay’s more recent restaurant additions. You’ll find it in an ideal location, where it is easily accessible and offers up great views. The food on offer is tasty and there is a great vibe, especially on lazy summer weekends.
Mynt Café is situated on the far side (Clifton side) of Camps Bay’s trendy Victoria Road. It attracts a young, fun and stylish clientele who enjoy the finer things in life. It is easy to wonder in from the Camps Bay beach by simply crossing the road and plonking yourself down on a comfy chair on the terrace.
The outdoor area is definitely one of Mynt Café’s selling points, as you can happily pass a summer’s afternoon there watching the myriad beautiful people go by, and later in the evening, enjoying the sunset. This is especially so on Sundays when Mynt calls in the DJ’s and live DJ sets spice up your evening – along with the delicious cocktail!
The indoor area is equally comfortable and the beach and sea are clearly in view, even if you’re not seated out on the terrace. Inside the subtle African themed décor is a bit more obvious, with a warm colour scheme of reds, browns and black, and baskets masquerading as lampshades. The flowers on the table are sitting in little woven baskets too.
Besides cocktails and various other alcoholic beverages, the menu also has a range of uncomplicated but satisfying food options, ranging from breakfast meals like eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce, to dinner plates like grilled salmon or burgers.
Situated in Victoria Road, the scenic drive that runs from Bantry Bay through to Llandudno, this restaurant can be reached from both Sea Point and Hout Bay, simply by following the Main Road. You'll find Mynt Café directly opposite Camps Bay Beach.
