The interior has been well designed with expansive glass windows along the sea-facing side of the restaurant to take full advantage of the far reaching views by day, and glorious sunsets on summer evenings. At night the candle-lit tables dramatically enhance the ambience, and in winter a crackling fire keeps diners wonderfully warm whilst the storms rage across the open ocean. Both the Rock Restaurant and the Gecko Bar are excellent venues for corporate functions or weddings. The restaurant can seat 150 guests comfortably and the Gecko has a capacity of 250. In addition to the sample set menus available, Harbour Rock will tailor a menu to suit your specific requirements.
The menu is large and whilst the emphasis is certainly on Seafood, meat lovers have not been over-looked and there are several dishes to tempt the palate. Starter recommendations are the Seafood Chowder with fresh line fish and spring onion in a creamy fennel sauce, or the Mussels steamed in white wine with a tomato, onion and coriander smoor. For a wholesome healthy lunch the salads are an excellent choice and the Rock Salad consisting of grilled chicken breast, shrimps, olive tapenade, pecorino shavings and croutons is one of the most popular. Main course recommendations are the Seared Tuna or the Coral Reef Kebab consisting of prawns peri-peri, Cajun calamari, hone & lime glazed kingklip and gypsy ham. To compliment your meal the award winning wine list concentrates on Overberg vineyards with selections from Elgin right through to Elim.
