Fork is contemporary tapas served in a relaxed atmosphere adhering to high standards of quality in both food and service. Ed Saunders and JD Haasbroek opened this stylish eatery in a delightful two-storey site near Green Market Square on Long Street in January 2006.
Fork truly offers Capetonians a new concept in eating. Tapas has taken London, and many other European and North American cities by storm.
The idea is sharing, tasting different flavours, interactive eating and fun. All plates of food are designed to share, allowing diners to sample several of the menu items in one sitting. It moves away from traditional Spanish tapas, offering more contemporary dishes with flavours and tastes derived from all around the world.
Fork also offers a wine list with a difference, dividing the selection of more than forty wines by region, allowing diners to choose some of the best cultivars on offer from the various wine growing regions of South Africa.
The atmosphere is relaxed in a European-style eatery with the original brickwork walls adorning the ground and first floors. The ground floor seats up to twenty and serves as the smoking area in conjunction with the terrace on the first floor overlooking Long Street. The Non-smoking section upstairs seats fifty, and three booths have been built in for that lunch business meeting, or an intimate dinner experience with family and friends.

From Muizenberg follow the Simon van der Stel (M3) freeway and Eastern Boulevard into town. Exit Eastern Boulevard at the Strand Street offramp. Turn left into Long Street and follow the road. You will find Fork Restaurant between Long Market Street and Short Market Street on the right hand side.
