We have kept our accommodation rustic and simple, but cosy, to enhance the traveller’s experience of a rural, peaceful Elalini (place of rest).
The atmosphere can also be lively, with fires burning at night, and chattering and laughter extending into the beautiful days under African skies.
We are situated at the old Goukamma Station, where the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe used to run. The railway line is a few metres away from the restaurant. The train will be running again in the near future and restoration has commenced.
Five houses are arranged in a circle. Two of these are set up as backpacker houses and consist of three dorm rooms sleeping 5 per room, an open plan lounge and braai area.
The Bed and Breakfast houses consist of three double rooms each with shared bathroom, lounge and braai area.
We also have a restaurant on the premises. Flippin’ Knys Coffee Shop / Restaurant is open daily from 8:00 – 17:00 (but we will soon be open for dinners). The restaurant serves fresh, local ingredients (mostly from local farmers and our
beautiful garden). We serve a wide range of breakfasts, lunches, dinners and sweet eats (including award-winning cheesecake), but our speciality is savoury and sweet pancakes!
#TheBAR is also situated on the edge of the premises with breathtaking views of the valley and incredible sunsets.
Nearby activities include hiking, horse riding, surfing and canoeing. We are 15 minutes away from Knysna and 5 minutes away from the beach. Our guests usually feel a sense of peace and relaxation.
Head west on Main Road/N2 toward Handel Street. Continue to follow N2. Turn left. Flippin' Knys will be on the left.
