This delightful sushi eatery (that also features exceptional Chinese food) is slightly tucked away at 16 Lower Main Road Observatory. It is located above street level in a small corner shopping centre in close proximity to the KFC which seems to be a landmark. As there is a quiet residential area just behind the centre there is usually safe and convenient parking available just around the corner.

Lovingly run by a hands-on, friendly Chinese husband and wife team and their helpful compliment of staff, Edo Sushi trades daily from 11am until 10pm. Popular for its daily buffet offering for both sushi and Chinese food, this restaurant offers a multitude of choices for all palates. Take-away orders stream in regularly so it’s best to order in advance especially if platters are required for outside catering purposes.

There is seating at the conveyor belt in the light and bright store as well as table seating for those that don’t want to sit high up. The restaurant also offers outside seating which is very popular in the warmer months.

The sushi buffet price is R179 per person and the sushi and Chinese food buffet price is R189 per person. The price for kids is R109 per person. On weekdays Monday to Thursday from 11am until 3:30 there is a special. Buy any 2 plates and get 1 free.

There are also amazing party platters available for functions and events which include various options and range from 63 to 79 pieces from R429 to R589.

The sushi menu offers several choices of individual sushi plates, Chef’s Specials, individual sushi platters and seven different Specials Sushi Combo for R139 ranging from 16 to 24 pieces.

The Chinese menu has a mouth-watering selection of starters and delectable soups. There are chicken, duck, beef, pork, seafood, noodles & rice, dumplings and Foo Yong options available. There is also a Sizzling section which offers sizzling beef, pork or chicken which is served with complimentary rice or noodles.

So whether you fancy excellent sushi or authentic Chinese cuisine - or a combination of both - for either a meal or an event - look no further than Edo Sushi.
