Down a quiet country lane, a short distance from the hussle and bustle of the main street, embraced by the magnificent mountains to its back and sides, lies the beautiful La Petite Dauphine Estate and at its heart: Bistro BonBon!

This charming and tranquil restaurant is steeped in history, holding many secrets of the Franschhoek Valley’s past. The uniqueness of our restaurant and what sets us apart is our multiple eating areas, from the Front Patio where guests enjoy breakfast and lunch overlooking the manicured gardens, the shaded Courtyard, as well as exclusivity of dining under a 200yr old Oak tree.

Dinner is an experience, The Studio a dining room that invites you in with a sense of awe and wonder, this converted fruit packing shed creates a natural warm ambiance a perfect fit for a romantic dining experience. For art lovers our restaurant displays a beautiful collection of paintings from local artists.

The Scottish Chef, Archie Maclean and his wife and Front of House Manager, Dominique Maclean welcome you with friendly staff, delicious food concentrating on using only the freshest of ingredients and carefully selected local wines. This bistro-style restaurant delivers simple, easy eating, yet creative dishes to suit all palates, we look forward to hosting you, your family, friends and even “man’s best friend” our easy-going approach to dining accommodates a friendly pet policy too.




Directions from Cape Town
Follow the exit signs towards the N1 highway
Take the N1 direction Paarl
Take the exit R 47, marked Klapmuts (approx 20/30 kms from Cape Town)
Turn right under the N1 Motorway.
Go through the 4-way stop and turn first left onto the R 45 to Franschhoek.
At the T-Junction (approx. 8km) turn right towards Franschhoek. Travel on for approximately 16 km.
Once in Franschhoek village continue along to the end of the Main road.
Here you will be in front of the Huguenot Monument.
Turn right and continue on this road (Excelsior) for approximately 1.7kms.
Bistro BonBon will be on your left hand side at the La Petite Dauphine Guest Farm.
