Oze Cafe is one of those rare finds. Its sits in a street where other restaurants are more busy, so people often simply believe this is not a place worth visiting and walk by. I can tell you it is a fantastic place. The food, the service, the range of beers on tap is simply brilliant. I know for a fact that many other Portuguese restaurants come and purchase some of there food and bread from here. I love this place.

we frequent this spot as one of our favourites in the Village. Sitting upstairs gives one an eagle eye on all the trendy people and the wheels...staff and service excellent, we often go for the Bitoque, which is a Portugeuese Dish consisting of a Steak Egg and sliced chips with a Portuguese sauce, and this come in at below R100 which is astounding...highly recommended!

Popped in for a Sunday lunch. Great, friendly service with a lovely street view of the vibey surrounding restaurants and bars.My girlfriend ordered a very tasty Rump Steak (topped with a fried egg) with sliced potatoes, and a Mac & Cheese for me that was truly out of this world! Sooooo good! (And only at R70!)I'm going to return to this restaurant specially for the Mac & Cheese. Absolutely divine :)Great time out.Recommended!

Amazing food, great atmosphere and vibe. Authentic Portuguese treats that are delicious. Definitely recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our traditional portugese family lunch at Oze. The european street atmosphere is great and Merci our waitress contributed well to a hearty spirit at our table.

On a recent Sunday we attended a birthday celebration lunch at Ozé. As we were a large party we were given a big table in the restaurant entrance, under an awning, which was ideal.After enjoying ice cold wine, beers and gin we all went straight to the mains. The ladies who ordered the various salads, were a little disappointed with the ratio of greens to chicken etc. Far too much lettuce etc. and not enough chicken but otherwise, the salads were all fresh and the portions, ample.The steaks were all pronounced good with the fillet on the bone being the winner. Those of us who ordered the half baby chicken and six queen prawn combo were also a little disappointed. The lemon and herb basting, which is made in-house, had a rather odd flavour. The chicken was tender and tasty but the chips, all round, tasted of slightly rancid oil. The clams as well as the trinchado was tasty.Our waiters were all friendly and helpful but were perhaps not used to serving such a large table as they did mix up some of the orders and when asked for ice and ice water, it took ages and they had to be reminded. As the restaurant was very busy, we understood and didn’t mind too much.Unfortunately we didn’t sample the desserts on offer as the birthday ‘girl’ brought a cake which we all shared.Worth mentioning for Gin lovers is the fact that this restaurant buys pre-mixed Gin, with a subtle orange flavour, in kegs. Very tasty and refreshing indeed and nicely garnished!

Awesome Portuguese food with a modern twist and great service. Highly recommend this restaurant. Great upstairs bar too!

Visited last night was one of our favourite places to go eat at The Village. service was shocking all the waiters stood chatting outside. We had to constantly call our waiter for assistance.Only one starter was worth talking about and that was the Chorizo - the rest of the meal was a disaster, And to top our disastrous evening off we were charged R90 corkage per bottle on our wine that we brought with. One place we won’t be going to again

This is the BEST restaurant in Pretoria. When you want to get back to basics and just enjoy good food without any pretences, OZE is the place. The staff is always welcoming and the food great. I shall always recommend.

Oze had been recommended & so I decided to invite a few friends for a lunch. I was told it had a lovely little courtyard where one can sit outside. Not so! It is a tiny walled in area with 2 tables & uncomfortable seating. It gave me the impression it was a 2m X 4m area they were not sure what to do with & stuck 2 tables there. I had mussels as a starter which were basically 6 mussels in a white sauce. It needed seasoning. The others had the Oze Starter Platter which was not bad. I decided to opt for prawns as it was a Portuguese restaurant & the waitress assured me the Portuguese know how to prepare prawns! They were terrible! The chips were soggy & old tasting & the prawns were soggy with no flavour. Such a disappointment. Mercy gave us good service & while the drinks are not cheap they were presented well. I must mention the cloakrooms - spotless & the decor beautiful. This was the only redeeming feature. I however will not be returning.
