Ocean Basket - Ballito

We actually Love Ocean Basket and we have never had a bad experience before. i always said you could never go wrong at Ocean Basket and i was so wrong.Our Waitress was not proactive and we had to ask her for things continually. Our Food was a Disaster , we had 2 platters for 2 which was dry, tasted horrible. Normally the Sauce is all over the prawns and the Rice , this time it was dry.All you could taste was old Oil that the stuff was deep fried.We spent a lot of money last night which is really a Luxury in this time. We did not complain then but had a take way which i gave to my helper. Which even she said it was not nice. i need someone to call me. 083 44 61234

Very quiet on day of visit and sat on top deck since it was a nice sunny day. Service was friendly but not not super fast and food mussels and prawn platter was tasty. Beers were cold. Menu is the same at every branch so at least you know what you are getting.

We have been to many Ocean Basket Restaurant and this time we thought we would try the Ballito branch. We arrived at 6:50pm. It took 15mins for the waitress to attend to us. We then ordered a plater for 2 which took 1hours and 20 mins to be prepared. While waiting we received the roll which was stone cold and super hard. The waitress completely ignored us for 40mins before coming up and saying it will be another 3mins which ended up taking another 30mins. After the long wait the food arrives. It had about 5 table spoons of rice(Def not enough for 2 people) which was cold. The squid heads where cold. Ordered an extra portion of calamari which they did not add but charged for it. Altogether extremely disappointed in food and service. I would not recommend this branch.

I have been a few times and really had a wonderful time. Brilliant venue with lovely fresh food and fantastic service.I have no doubt we will be back.

We enjoyed the fresh salmon salad and sushi. The view was just amazing. Will visit again. We really enjoyed the time out we left our car at our guest house and had n nice walk to the restaurant and back

We enjoyed a shared platter, it was Valentine's Day, after all. Quick and efficient service, and good value for money

This is a Ocean Basket with a stunning view! A little bit disappointed, as we were there on a extremely hot day, and there was no cool air or aircons, which resulted in an odd fly or two!!

Great location with awesome views. Was a little hot inside considering the air cons compete with the hot and humid climate while the windows are open. Food quality was average. Portion sizes were generous. Service not that great unfortunately. No table clothes on the tiled table cloths left our table rather messy from condensation off the glasses.

The service is terrible. Was seated at my table and waited 10min before calling a waiter to take my drinks order. My food came first before my sparkling water???? My water came to the table without even some lemon or ice and my sons milkshake without a straw.. there were also no bowl to place the empty prawn shells so I had to use the bread basket which still had bread in it. There were people who came to sit at the table next to us and also waited about 10 to 15 min before someone served them. Rather go next door or the Galley.

Service was good, but unfortunately OB has this 'culture' of drowning everything on the plate in lemon butter!! The food would be so much better if they leave this on the side, by default!!
