I ordered a porcini pasta. It is described on the menu as a pasta with porcini mushrooms. When it arrived, it was a pasta with very ordinary brown mushroom. Not a porcini in sight. When I questioned this with our waiter, both a manager and a member of the kitchen staff came to our table. They admitted that it was an ordinary brown mushroom pasta but said that porcini mushrooms were blended into the source and that's why they couldn't be seen anywhere on the plate. What nonsense!!!
The restaurant served up ordinary brown mushrooms and passed them off as porcini mushrooms. And charged for porcini mushrooms. As my friend said, it is like one ordering duck l'orange in a restaurant and being served chicken. And when questioning it, simply being told that "the duck is blended in the source". My wife was less diplomatic and said ïts a damn cheek". Others may even think its a misrepresentation on diners. Either way it is unacceptable.
