Beaches Restaurant

Our first time dining out during Lockdown. Meals were terrific, but sadly presented without any service. Firstly there was no acknowledgement upon entry of restaurant. We had to get the waitress's attention to request a table for 2 after standing in the foyer for almost 4 minutes. On waiting time... I had to get out of my seat to ask for our drinks to be served before the delivery of our main meal. A while later our drinks was placed in front of us without any apology. COVID-19 regulations definitely not up to standard i.e.. sanitizing and allocated spacing. Waitress surely had no customer service as well as any communication skills. I was expecting an professional approach such as Miss or Sir, but not even an introduction to her name. No follow-up was done at our table and no specification regarding the cooking preference of meals. It undoubtedly seems that the waitress regarded her tip as more important than our experience since she was more focused on the bigger tables. Upon settling of the bill, believe it or not, not even the traditional 'Thank you, hope to see you again.'With so many choices available in the restaurant sector, even through this challenging time , we will simply never return to Beaches.

Good service and excellent view. For South Africa, prices are quite high, but the food was outstanding. Recommend the hake and chips ( we asked for this, as we could not find it on menu - lots of combo’s offered)

A cozy restaurant with a definite beach side feel and beautiful view of the rolling waves. Smoker friendly veranda. Enjoy fresh wholesome meals that are always cooked to perfection - remember you have to eat to sit down for drinks here, otherwise you can sit down at their coffee shop which is literally 10 steps away, also with views of the ocean. The seafood is great, the chicken dishes are great, good selection of wines as well as a full bar and our son's favorite, the milkshakes!

Very nice coffee shop but with the black dog running around at the coffee shop en licking a person it is not very good while eating the dog sit at your table and whatch rather leave your dog at home.food was great and services no complain. But the dog is a problem

Its a R150 for a Greek Salad, kids small portions R135! You can't even have a capuccino in the morning without ordering food. We where told to leave. Beautiful wiew, but you can the best fish and chips (beautifully fresh fish anf seafood) at Skafti for two peole @R190!

Small intimate beachside restaurant with spectacular views. Menu plain simple fresh local food cooked beautifuly.Nothing too fancy Ok the facilities are a bit crude but just relax and enjoy.

I have been here before, in season when the place was fairly busy. Had a decent lunch. Came back again on a quiet week day. Place was grubby, portions seem smaller and prices higher. Food was acceptable, but not worth the price. My fish was overcooked and dry.The position is fantastic , what a pity the food and service don't match.

Stunning venue with very friendly waitress. Simple but tasty food, although quite pricey. Despite being busy and with only one waitress it was a very pleasant experience.

Arrived at lunch time, looked fairly busy one or two tables on the deck available. The four of us took one of those..the view is awesome. On first glance at the menu its top end prices so expected presentation and something with a bit of flair at least. Unfortunately each meal looked like a TV dinner I can put together myself in 15 minutes...No presentation flair, bland food. The waitress was robotic, took the order, no interaction , had to help ourselves to the menu to consider sweets but opted for coffee. The owner needs to visit similar seafood restaurants on the coast i.e. Cafe Orca in Melkbosstrand and compare what they offer for about the same price to this place, they are streets ahead in all fields !.. Saltwater Grill is another example. Sadly, felt riipped off wont be back.

Have to congratulate this establishment!Only two weeks into the new year and it is a shoo in for the most inhospitable restaurant of the year.Arrived at 1.45pm on a saturday. A blackboard at the entrance informed us No Light Meals"...Okaaaaay, we were hungry so we ventured inside."Please wait to be seated"...SOooooo we waited....and waited...and waited some more..We helped ourselves to menues whilst we waited...not to be seated, just acknowledged...not cheap or even reasonable..i looked around the restaurant and thought " well, the food had better be good at those prices because the restaurant looked shabby, not " shabby chic" just shabby.Alas, i'll never know!The owner, manager or whatever looked right thru us..no "i'll be with you shortly" or " sorry for the wait"...just a icy, hostile stare which asked " You still here?"Needless to say we left!Great location with loads of potential...Oh, and you might want to consider playing some background music for the diners, its preferable to listening to the racket emanating from the kitchen.AVOID!
