Essence is rapidly capturing the market with our unique concept, whereby you can relax,on your own in our Cafe and browse through our selection of magazines, prepare for your next meeting or surf the net on our wireless network, while you eat a scrumptious meal.

The menu is made up of a variety of delectable dishes ranging from salads to wraps, as well as a selection of cakes and daily lunch specials.
We serve breakfast and lunch ranging from Jungle Oats, to specialty salads, to our gourmet burgers. Our salads and wraps are very popular and we are also renowned for our decadent brownies and top quality cappuccinos which recently won the Cafe society 1st Place award for best cappuccino in the Pietermaritzburg/Midlands area.

The restaurant is also open for evening functions by prior arrangement and can cater for any function and also provide home cooked meals, it opens at 07H00am and provides the best breakfast meeting place for business people.
Martin adds that he named his restaurant "ESSENCE" because he believes the the word essence encompasses the soul of his business "Good food, good friends, and excellence"

Driving on the N3, take the Church Street turn off towards Pietermartitzburg. Continue along Church Street until you reach the crossing with Peter Kerchhoff Street, turn right and continue to Victoria Road. Turn left here and you will find Essence Deli-Café on your left after 200m.
