Erawan Thai Restaurant & Bar, nestled in the charming Chelsea Village of Wynberg, has become a firm favourite for locals and visitors alike. This elegant restaurant not only offers delectable Thai food, but also a contemporary and friendly atmosphere, coupled with the great customer service one has come to expect of the Thai people. Once you have tried Chef Witsun's authentic Thai cuisine, you would be hard pressed to try any other Thai restaurant.

When walking into Erawan, the jade accent wall and Buddha statues remind guests of Thailand's serene tranquillity, while the traditional Thai background music complete the relaxed ambience. The entrance and bar area were combined for more informal after-work or pre-dinner drinks, while the dining room offers great contemporary dining. During the day sunlight pours into the restaurant through the big windows lining the front of the shop, accentuating the white table cloths and napkins. Evenings the restaurant is enveloped with a soft glow helped by the subtle lighting throughout the restaurant.

The menu is authentic Thai with popular Starters like the Crispy Duck and pancakes - the duck is thinly sliced and served with cucumber, spring onion and Hoi Sin sauce. The ever popular Thai soup, Tom Yum Goong, is another speciality, and this hot and sour prawn soup is served with vegetables, coriander and lime leaves. Main course recommendations are the Massaman Curry with potato, coconut, peanuts and prawn, or the Ba Me Prik Phao Gai, tender chicken fillet stir-fried with egg noodles, fresh vegetables and crunchy cashews in a special roasted chilli paste. The Sticky Rice Pudding with litchis and a hint of coconut is a must-have at Erawan, while another favourite comes is definitely the Chocolate Spring Roll with dark chocolate and ice cream!
