Situated in the seaside town of Langebaan, the Cattle Baron is located in the beautiful heritage Marra Square building, and is a mere 75 meters from the main beach. With beautiful views of the lagoon it has an enviable position whether you choose to dine in style on the cocktail sunset deck, upstairs or downstairs, or in the piazza styled square. There is a great ambience thanks to the superb indoor/outdoor flow, and in the winter months a well placed fireplace provides a welcome respite from those winter chills.

The Cattle Barons use only super A-grain-fed beef that is matured under ideal temperature conditions for at least 18 days. Strict attention is paid to texture, fat content and the cutting and styling of the each steak. The Cattle Baron group has won many awards over the years. This is testament to the great service, food and atmosphere that our valued customers have come to expect from the Cattle Baron restaurants. In line with their policy of being child friendly, there is an excellent Kiddies Menu which offers a selection of well priced wholesome meals, together with the Mix-o-treat ice cream dessert which is exclusive to the Cattle Baron group.

The main menu is impressively large with a huge selection of dishes offering salads, steaks, seafood, pastas and poultry. What’s more unlike many other restaurants, at the Cattle Baron you don’t pay extra for your vegetables and sauces, so you get exceptional value for money! Remember too, that there is no corkage on your own wine. Being close to the sea, it stands to reason that seafood is a popular starter with choices such as the Mussels in a creamy white wine and garlic sauce, or the tender calamari. Other starter recommendations are the garlic snails and the Carpaccio. Top quality steaks are indeed the signature dishes at the Cattle Baron with specialities like the Fat Tuesday which is a 600 gm rump or sirloin - definitely a connoisseur’s steak for the ravenously hungry! The Chateaubriand (for which the Cattle Baron is famous) is another best seller along with the juicy pork ribs.

Travelling South on the R27 West Coast Highway. Turn left at the West Coast Engen One Stop, Langebaan turn-off. Continue straight ahead on Oostewal Road about 15km towards the Langebaan Lagoon. Turn left onto Bree Street, we are situated on the corner of Main and Bree Streets at the Marra Square, Shop 10.
