221 WATERFRONT is an exciting contemporary international restaurant and cocktail bar located at the site of what was Morton’s on the Wharf, the most exclusive address at the V & A Waterfront.
The designers have created an unparalleled ambience, revealing breathtaking views of both Table Mountain and the working harbour from every table in the restaurant. A soulful feel has been created featuring fireplaces that will during the winter months, create a warm welcoming environment.
The menu is a result of extensive research and development by Executive Chef Katerina Alexandris and her team which include two international Sushi Chefs. It features a fusion of foods from across the globe. The accent is on flavour and the presentation, awe inspiring. The menu has a variety of interesting unique dishes and will satisfy a diversity of tastes.

Signature entrees include, prawns wrapped in kataifi pastry, brie baked with mango jelly in a phyllo basket and Franschhoek trout and cucumber parcels filled with Philadelphia cream cheese.
Main courses include, fresh Norwegian salmon, breast of duck, pyramid of prawns, New York style prime rib of beef and lamb cutlets. Flavours of South Africa include Cape Malay chicken curry, lamb bredie and fish bobotie, all presented on one platter, to name a few.

Desserts include our decadent chocolate & chilli ganache and homemade nougat ice cream with fresh berries and halva.
221 is one of the few restaurants in the Waterfront that has a cocktail lounge and bar that is a designated smoking area. Plasma screens make this an ideal venue to watch your favourite sporting event in a social environment. Light meals are also available and this area can be hired for cocktail parties and any special occasion.
The wine list is extensive, the Sushi exceptional.
