Greenside has long been regarded as a suburb which boasts some of the most successful restaurants in Johannesburg. It was therefore just a matter of time before the well known Adega franchise set up shop in this restaurant mecca. Partners Sergio, Shawn and Vaan, actively participate in the business to ensure that they know many of their customers on a personal basis.

The restaurant is large (by Greenside standards) and can comfortably accommodate 150 diners which includes the spacious shady terrace.
The menu features the usual excellent selection of Portuguese specialities and seafood dishes for which the Adega group is renowned. On the starter menu the Chicken Livers (Portuguese style) are highly recommended, together with the Oysters which can be served as an impressive centre piece for large tables. The prawns deserve special mention as they are available in 5 different sizes from Tiger Giants through to medium depending on your appetite! On the meat side, the Portuguese Steak (served with a fried egg) is highly recommended, and there is a good choice of dishes for vegetarians. Leave room for dessert and try the Granadilla or Chocolate Mousse.

Travelling on Beyers Naude Drive, turn right into Preller Drive. Continue on Preller Drive (it becomes Hofmeyr Drive), and then turn right into Tana Road, and right again into 3rd Avenue. Then turn left into Gleneagles Road and continue until the road forks. Adega will be on your right on the corner of Gleneagles Road & Greenway Street.
