Tucked away inside the Solole Game Reserve is one of the Southern Peninsulas best kept secrets, Rioja Restaurant. Simon and Ceri Phillips had a vision for Rioja and with their passion, dedication, impeccably high standards and a wonderful team, they created this bustling restaurant.

Sit amongst the tranquille setting with the springboks and buffalo (yes buffalo) and sip away on your favourite tipple or enjoy one of their world-class cappuccinos.
Tapas features on the menu as do a variety of main courses and highlighted on the blackboards are the daily specials. With delicacies such as sesame-seared tuna, confit of duck and fresh from the ocean fish, there is something for everyone. Enjoy the homemade sorbets, ice creams and tartlets, amongst other delights, all made daily at Rioja. Only the freshest ingredients are sourced and served and Simon has an eye for creating beautifully presented dishes.

Once the sun has gone down, the candles are lit and the music is playing, the only thing left to do, is sit back and enjoy the experience. The restaurant has a wonderful ambience and a simple, yet chic style.

From Cape Town, take the M3 freeway through to the end.
Exit the M3, turn right at the traffic lights & follow the road past Westlake and turn left towards Fish Hoek & over the mountain pass, Ou Kaapse Weg.
Continue straight on & past the Long Beach mall on your right.
At the top of the road are traffic lights, turn right into the Kommetjie Main Road, towards Kommetjie.
Continue up the road for about 1.5km.
You will see a long wall on your left, turn left at the end of the wall & the gated entrance into the restaurant is set just off the main road, on the left.
