You will find us nestling on the south - western slopes of the Helderberg Mountain on the R44 between Stellenbosch & Somerset West.
The Restaurant is situated within the wine tasting area, adjacent to the working cellar. We have seating available inside as well as outside (weather permitting) in our picturesque patio garden with its magnificent views of the vineyards, horses and Table Mountain itself.

Indulge your senses with a hearty breakfast selection enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere. Champagne breakfasts ever popular. The lunch menu, bursting with flavour, boasts specialities such as the duck with a piquant Van der Hum sauce, matured Fillet of Beef and Fish with a Saffron Velouté. Lighter options put emphasis on organic and local produce, where salads, sandwiches and quiches appeal to the health conscious. Delectable desserts will linger in the mind long after the meal especially if savoured with the farms 5 or 10 year pot stilled brandy.

The emphasis at Avontuur is unhurried meals in the company of good friends without compromising service. Intimate dining in front of the fire or sophisticated yet informal dining on the terrace. Dinner every Wednesday and Friday evening boasts a menu that changes monthly with seasonal items taking preference.

Directions from Stellenbosch
Take the R44 road towards Somerset West from Stellenbosch. Go straight for about 15km and you will find Avontuur Wine Estate on your left just next to Eikendal Vineyards.
Directions from N2
Take the N2 towards Somerset West. Turn left at the “R44 Stellenbosch Broadway Boulevard” sign and turn left at the traffic lights onto the R44 road. Keep straight on R44 for about 7km and Avontuur Wine Estate will be on your right.
