Annatjie, a chef who developed her passion for cooking while entertaining house guests in style, has dabbled in the restaurant scene in Johannesburg for more than 10 years. She ran her own establishment in Shelly Beach (South Coast) before becoming a partner in Razzmatazz.
You have a choice of seating - indoors, where terracotta walls offset Mediterranean blue chairs and white tablecloths, or the outdoor deck (smoking), where you can expect unforgettable evenings and excellent cuisine, whilst the crashing of the waves can be heard from below. Here blue and white check cloths and sun umbrellas set a casual tone.
The bar at the restaurant entrance offers you a place to meet and to study the wine display in the open cooler fridge.

The emphasis is on seafood and game dishes. The mussels in garlic, cream and white wine
are outstanding; tender crocodile kebabs in a lemon butter sauce are beautifully presented; and black giant mushrooms filled with a red wine, onion and bacon mix, are topped with mozzarella cheese and oven grilled.
Tasty carrots with brandy, sugar and parsley, and broccoli steamed with ginger, garlic and basil, are some of the variations designed to please even dedicated carnivores.

The signature dish is the langoustines, steamed with lemongrass and fresh herbs in a Chinese bamboo basket, which remains a most delicate extravagance. Those who love the
slightly bitter tang of tamarind will relish the tamarind rich fish curry with brinjals where only the freshest, firmest fish is used.
For game, try the flavourful hunter's pot of cubed blesbok marinated in red wine and buttermilk, finished with blue berries and baby onions, attractively served in an edible phyllo pastry pot, and don't miss the venison jerepigo if it's one of the daily specials.
You can't go wrong with one of the 80 crème brulees, made fresh daily, for dessert.
The restaurant is available for private functions, birthday parties and corporate functions. Bookings are essential.
