A world class quality wine producer
Against the background of a 300 year old viticulture heritage and a modern day reputation as one of South Africa's top three wine districts, seven leading vineyard owners and renowned grape producers created Durbanville Hills together with Distell, the country's leading and largest wine and spirits purveyor and producer. Our vineyards that supply our fruit, comply with 3 basic and unyielding criteria: Only shareholders provide grapes. Only grapes grown in the limited appellation of Durbanville are cellared. Only fruit grown under constant and scientifically enforced viticulture practises are used in our wines.
These criteria were adopted with a single mission in mind: To make top quality wines.

Relying on our "cool" hills In the first valley from Cape Town, among the hills of Durbanville, this cool appellation is perfect for making noble varietal white and red wines. Cool mist-covered south-facing slopes are ideal for deep, full and fruity whites, whilst the valley opens up towards the setting sun to allow gradual ripening of the red grape varieties through hot days and cool nights.
Shaping the future of wine At Durbanville Hills, we are blessed with the finest attributes from the Old and the New World. Here, our top quality wines are shaped with our hearts in France, where the land provides the perfect conditions for a range of noble varietals. Yet we cultivate this land and make our wines in the spirit of the New World when we apply the most recent and innovative viticulture and winemaking technology to accompany the fruit from the soil to the lips of wine lovers.
