At Olives Bistro its all about “Good Food Wine & Friends”, as we also believe that food wine & passion should never be separated as all three should be enjoyed for as long as possible. Olives Mediterranean Bistro is the latest in a long line of successful start-ups by the well known and well regarded restaurateur and chef-Sean Noel-Barham, who having been associated with the likes of Le Francaise in the early 70’s, Linger Longer & the Perfumed Garden, has cooked for many local and international celebrities.
The restaurant itself is quite small (150 seater) and well appointed, with a ‘cuddle-up’ stone fireplace, tasteful décor and filled to the brim with warm ambiance designed not to intimidate patrons despite its pedigree. It’s Stylishly European and uncomplicated with loads of “bon ami”.

With its open terrace and secure parking on Hawley Road Entrance, it’s conveniently located on Van Buuren Road and is a destination restaurant worthy of being entertained.
Chef Sean is well known for his high standards of quality & offers regular daily specials and a superb selection of Bistro & Mediterranean style cuisine. Signature dishes include Duck, in a creamy cherry brandy sauce, Lamb Cutlets in lemon & basil marinade, Prawn Arabiatta, Bouillabaise, Sole fillet & Shrimp with a saffron mushroom & cream sauce, Ostrich fillet in red wine, wild berry & juniper sauce, Moroccan Lamb Curry, & a milder but very popular Thai Chicken Curry but lets not forget our famous Lindt Chocolate Orgasm for the chocoholics. During the Lenten period we also accommodate a larger variety of vegetarian & fasting food requests.

Heading North on the N3 towards Pretoria just after the Geldenhuis Interchange take the Van Buuren off ramp. Turn right into Van Buuren Road and proceed under the highway until the Nicol Road intersection. At this point continue straight, Van Buuren Road veers to the right and you continue along Hawley Road. We are halfway down the block, at back of the Bedfordview Arcade, corner Hawley & Van Buuren and offer Secure Parking on Hawley Road Entrance.
