The décor is warm and cozy, with an emphasis on intimacy and elegance. Plush carpeting, authentic Indian art and dark shades of red, are complimented by low romantic lighting. The restaurant consists of an entrance area, for secluded pre-dinner drinks, and a spacious dining area, seating 180 to 200 guests comfortably. The open plan dining area consists of a main section for business luncheons and bustling dinners. Many smaller intimate sections provide for romantic candlelit evenings.

You have a choice of some exciting starters, individual or meze, including Chicken Tikka, Onion Bhaji and Fish Amritsari. The main specialties include the Chicken Tikka Masala, Prawn Vindaloo and the exciting vegetarian Aloo Sag, which are potatoes cooked to perfection in deliciously spiced spinach gravy.

To end off your meal you could go for the exquisite Maharaja specialty kulfi, which is a special Indian ice cream flavoured with saffron and green cardamon.

From Pretoria - Take M1 (Ben Schoeman highway). Turn Roodepoort turnoff. Take William Nicol off-ramp - turn left & then first right into Sloane Street. The moment you turn into Sloane Street you will see the "Maharaja" board on your left.
From Laudium - Take Old Krugersdorp Road. Turn right towards Bryanston on the Main Road after the Zenox petrol station. Turn right after the third robot into Sloane Street. Pass another robot, continue to go straight - the Maharaja will be on your left, immediately after the robot.
From Johannesburg - Take M1 (Ben Schoeman highway). Turn left at the Roodepoort off-ramp. Take the William Nicol off-ramp - turn left & then turn right into Sloane Street. The moment you turn into Sloane Street you will see the "Maharaja" board on your left.
From Lenasia - Take Concrete Highway. Take William Nicol off-ramp. Turn right and cross the fly over. 2nd robot - turn right into Sloane Street. Maharaja is on your left.
