If there is one thing a successful restaurateur needs to know, it’s how to read a crowd and how to make that crowd happy. It’s an invaluable ability that is particularly useful when it comes to running a prosperous eatery in the fiendishly fickle city of Cape Town.
Picture Manga in Mouille Point, Atlantic Seaboard, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa As such, the bar dining venue Quaglino’s on the Mouille Point strip has been closed, re-clothed and is opening on Thursday 1 September as Manga. Under the helm of hospitality veteran Steve Sadler, who has recently joined fellow investors Marc Langlois, Jean Muller and Brendon Crew, Manga is set to be a street-meets-current kind of a spot that has Asian-ish influences in terms of food and décor.

Sadler explains more, “Manga celebrates an eclectic mix of Asian and Eastern/Pacific cultures and offers diners a dynamic mash-up of contemporary style-food. Most notably is Manga’s sushi menu, which will include its signature dish – Sushi Taco – made up of tuna tartare, tuna sashimi, avo and micro herbs.”

“This re-brand isn’t about starting over, but launching a new dining experience that hits all the needs of our customers and the community. It’s part of a greater growth strategy that puts the Mouille Point eatery on par with the best restaurants the city has to offer,” Sadler concludes.
