Their vision is to provide an upscale dining experience to their customers, offering gourmet food that doesn’t cost a pretty penny. All the dishes are freshly prepared, with everything - from the bastings and sauces to the beef patties - made right from scratch.

Diners can choose from a varied selection of meals – from gourmet burgers and ‘sexy steaks’ to sushi platters and oyster speciality dishes. Don’t start your day with a soggy bowl of Weetabix; opt for a J-Bay Beach Break ‘Gourmet Breakfast’ instead. The ‘Breakfast Pot’ blends together dinner and breakfast, creating an innovative culinary masterpiece. This meal is a pot of bolognaise that is topped with scrambled egg, sun-dried tomato, cream cheese, and two slices of toast.

The ‘Maverick’s Burger, named after a famous surfing spot, is served with a sizeable, 200-gram homemade beef patty, topped with caramelised onions, mozzarella, and basil pesto. The burger is accompanied by a side of hand-cut chips or a salad. Switch up the beef patty for a char-grilled chicken fillet and opt for the scrumptious ‘Kirra Burger’ – served with camembert and green fig preserves.

The recommended starter dish is the ‘Stuffed Calamari Tubes’. This concoction gives the much-loved seafood dish a bit of a contemporary twist. It is served with two large calamari tubes grilled with lemon and herb and is stuffed with feta, sun-dried tomato and basil pesto. Meat-lovers can make their way through a whopping 800-grams worth of ‘Eisbein’, served with sauerkraut, mash, veggies, and mustard.

A visit to J-Bay Beach Break will not only provide you with good food, but a lively atmosphere can also be expected. With décor of luminous green armchairs as well as vibrantly coloured beach umbrellas and signage’s, the eatery is eye catching to the passer-by. The interior is spacious, with the walls adorned with boards and a miscellany of surfing paraphernalia. With the addition of a bar, locals and holidays can enjoy a signature cocktails or shooter while watching the sunset over the ocean.
