España is a Family Restaurant that dishes up ‘food with attitude’. They serve European/Mediterranean food the South African way. Owners John-John and Almaro Van Vuuren and Reinette Wessels had a vision to replicate a European dining experience serving Mediterranean style food with a South African twist.
The interior is a combination of rustic antique wood finishes and art by Hannatjie de Clerq & Picasso line drawings painted on textured walls. The Ambiance is relaxed, inspired by the restaurants in the Wine Regions of Valencia. Background music is mostly Spanish with Italian & French.
Espana has an Open wood fire rotisserie where their flagship chicken (Pollo) is cooked to perfection. Only free range chicken & fresh daily fish and market vegetables are used in all their dishes.
Favourite dishes include Tapas - Authentic Spanish Tapas from the Valencia region, Wood fired rotisserie chicken & Valencia Paellas, Bavarian Pork Belly ribs and aged Sirloin. For desserts be sure to try the Crema Catalan, Chocolate fondant & Pistachio Semi fredo.
The venue lends itself to romantic dining plus function areas in the Vineyard , on the Patio, in the Restaurant and on the Roof Deck. Their Italian Chef and friendly staff are well trained to ensure your dining pleasure
Travel from Cape Town on the N2 towards Stellenbosch and take exit 33 for Baden Powell Drive toward R310/Stellenbosch/Macassar. Turn left onto Baden Powell Drive/R310 and then turn right onto Annandale Road. Turn left onto R44. Espana Restaurant will be on the left.
