Cape Town’s new franchise The Copper Club has two completely different yet charming stores situated in Durbanville’s Tyger Waterfront and Newlands respectively. Although there are similar elements in terms of design and layout within the stores – each outlet has its own unique personality which is formed in part by its location.
There are certainly consistencies in terms of the menu, offering and exceptional customer service so clients can look forward to The Copper Club experience wherever they end up. And it seems entrepreneurial partners Ryan and Chris have their goals set for expansion so Cape Town patrons will continue to be charmed and entertained by this hard- working duo in more locations in future.
The Tyger Waterfront store is an ideal spot for recreational lunches, meeting friends after work and lively dinners at the water’s edge. On Sundays there’s live entertainment so it’s a good idea to arrive early if you want outside seating. The waterfront area is both residential and commercial so there’s a community vibe and a lively atmosphere which is reminiscent of European cafes. People walk around on the boardwalks throughout the day and the evening so it’s certainly a spot to see and be seen. There is additionally plenty of safe parking so if you’re driving it’s easy to access.
The interior décor includes dark wood, which is both warm and welcoming, and perfectly suites the outdoor deck areas which provide both shelter and shade so patrons can relax “outdoors” even in the winter months. The interior does have some industrial elements with the exposed ceilings and brickwork but it’s not out of place and in combination the two elements work well together.
The menu features delectable homemade gourmet burgers with all the trimmings, Italian style pizzas prepared in the woodfired oven and a varied selection of craft beers guaranteed to quench any thirst. There are other delightful menu options to consider including light meals and the coffee is first class. Patrons who are short of time pop in to grab a take-away which is quickly and effortlessly put together for them by the efficient staff who always go the extra mile.
