Situated in a small upmarket shopping complex in a quiet residential area, the Cattle Baron Van Riebeeckshof has easy access and plenty of secure parking. Under new ownership and management, the restaurant is geared to providing excellent service with a team of friendly attentive staff.
A corner table with comfy chairs allows patrons the opportunity to relax with a cup of coffee and read the newspaper at any time of day. In the evenings this area serves as a waiting area for patrons to enjoy a drink whilst waiting for a table. A large enclosed smoking area ensures the comfort of non-smokers, and although situated in a shopping complex, the restaurant is fortunate to have some tables with mountain views.
The large menu offers something for everyone with a choice of meat, fish, pasta and vegetarian options. By far the biggest seller is the Chateaubriand which is impressively tender and tasty and certainly recommended. The Spareribs are also immensely popular and are available in different sizes for hearty appetites and the not-so-hungry. Starter recommendations are the Calamari Rings or the stuffed Mushrooms, and the traditional Malva Pudding is a deliciously satisfying dessert to round of a memorable meal.
