Hudsons offers the genuine burger experience, unashamedly unpretentious in every way. It’s inspired by an American old school diner, but set to the soundtrack of contemporary city life, and an awesome “don’t-you-love-this-song” sixties to now playlist.
There is certainly nothing ordinary about the burgers. To start with, the meat isn’t just meat, but freshly-ground, all grain, low-fat beef. (Sometimes it isn’t meat at all, but chickpea-and-lentil, or even ostrich.)
All the ingredients are sourced locally, and they’re handmade on the premises whenever possible. That includes lemonade, soda water and, yes, even draught beer.

Not surprisingly, the team behind the burger joint is well experienced in the flavours of the Cape restaurant scene. Anything that comes out of the kitchen of Ross Collins is sure to elicit a “we-must-definitely-come-back-here-again” response and co-owner David Raad has solidly ambitious plans to make sure that Hudsons becomes more than just a burger joint, but part of trend-setting Cape Town culture.
